I wanted to investigate the psychology of color and its&nbsp;correlation in packaging. By focusing on color&nbsp;theory, learning about the correlation between colors and&nbsp;emotion lead into the use and meaning of color in&nbsp;branding.&nbsp; I created an experiential grocery mart with products and changed the color of the packaging to see what feelings are evoked by a tide bottle being bright pink rather than the orange that the original packaging is. Through the years, he has been given titles such as “your favorite musician’s favorite musician” and “the Mozart of Gen Z”. These monikers are well deserved, as we discovered first-hand what it was like to briefly live in the mind of musical genius. For the past 7 years, Jacob has been hard at work on a multi-Grammy award-winning quadruple album project called “DJESSE”. Jacob’s goal in creating this sprawling musical epic was to tell a far-reaching story of the many facets of the human condition. With the final album, “Djesse: Vol. 4” due to launch on February 29, 2024, we were contacted by Jacob’s manager, Michael Peha, President of Early Hour Entertainment, to craft something special and truly celebrate the journey of Djesse. With only 3 short weeks to put things into motion, we set out to build an electic, colorful, and highly immersive Jacobian wonderland. The concept - from beginning to end - was always, “bring Jacob’s mind into the real world and give guests a way to exist alongside him”. designers and people working in the design community I wanted to create a unique environment for my work to live in as well as have the objects on my table play with the elements in my design work. The elements I really wanted to use in my table set up was turf, cement blocks, exposed wood, old TV and of course disco balls to convey my branding. With many materials creates an interesting juxtaposition in the environment, in turn makes the viewer want to touch and experience what is in front of them. Objects like tiny plastic animals, rubber ducks and googly eyes were involved as a way to push the weird and add the right amount of busy and color.
